How do I know if a shipping address is residential or commercial, and why does it matter?

The answer is simple:

A residential delivery goes to a home, 
including a business operating out of a home, churches and schools.

A commercial delivery goes to a business.

Our shipping system automatically determines the category of a destination. If you pay for commercial delivery and then when shipping is processed it is determined that residential delivery is required, you will need to pay the difference before it is shipped out.  We will not ship without the additional payment.
Damages MUST be reported within 48 hours of shipment receipt. FDI International, Inc. is not responsible for broken, damaged items or missing parts beyond the 48 hour window. All broken/damaged item/missing parts are to be reported to Customer Service within 48 hours of receipt.  Anything beyond this timeframe is the responsibility of the buyer.
If you purchase more than two items - please note that all FedEx rates quoted online are for commercial delivery only.  Please provide a commercial address or you will be required to pay an additional $65 residential delivery fee if shipment has to go freight because Residential shipping rates will vary. 

Customs, Duties, and Taxes

The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to customs brokerage fees, import duties, and taxes after the shipment reaches the destination country. Additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient because we have no control over these government-imposed charges and cannot determine what they may be. Customs policies vary greatly among countries. Please contact your local customs office for information.

To avoid a delay in receiving your order from customs, consider the following:

  • Provide us with a phone number where you can be reached by customs when your product arrives. This phone number will be listed on the commercial invoice so customs can reach you to clear your order.
  • Please do not refuse a shipment or ignore requests from carriers regarding duty and/or tax liability charges. Be aware that most carriers will hold a shipment for 5 days after arrival in your country before they return it to the sender.
  • We do not refund original shipping charges for goods that are refused for delivery at customs.

Freight Shipping Information

All freight is delivered curbside, Commercial location with signature required. Customer should call delivery company to set up a delivery time, if needed. Residential or Inside delivery requirements will necessitate an additional fee to the carrier. The estimated delivery time will be approximately 1-5 business days from the time of order.  If you have any customer service questions, order status inquiries, concerns regarding defective product, assembly of furniture or product operation, please call 1-866-384-9094 and ask for the Customer Service Department.

Curbside Delivery

Curbside Delivery Service Curbside delivery service provides delivery of your item(s) to the curb at the end of your driveway. This service does not include set up or assembly of items or removal of packaging materials. Your item will be shipped to a local delivery terminal. The delivery terminal will call you when your item arrives to schedule a delivery appointment. Deliveries are made between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and will be scheduled as a 4-hour window. Your item will be delivered truck and will be taken off the truck by the delivery driver.  Upon delivery please inspect your item(s). You will be required to sign a Proof of Delivery receipt. Please note any damage to the item or packaging on the delivery receipt.  A signature is required for all deliveries; the driver is unable to complete delivery without a signed delivery receipt. Please note, if you live down a road or drivewaythat the delivery truck cannot access without causing damage to the truck we will be unable to complete delivery.

Freight Shipping VS Ground Delivery

Ground delivery is only available on smaller items which are able to be transported via a standard delivery truck. Ground shipments can be delivered to residential or commercial locations. Freight delivery is used for larger packages which need to be handled with care and delivered on a larger truck via a pallet. Freight deliveries typically utilize a lift gate on the rear of the truck and delivery is curbside only. It is important to track your freight delivery so you will be able to sign for the delivery and move the packages to the interior of your space. Freight delivery to a residential address (even if the business is located in a home) will incur additional costs. We recommend delivering to a commercial address whenever possible.

We do not ship Credit On Delivery. All purchases must be paid for 100% prior to shipping.
